GIVING LIFE AND A PROMISING FUTURE TO THE FORGOTTEN PEOPLE OF CÔTE D'IVOIRE
We believe everyone deserves access to clean drinking water, healthcare, and education.
Let's change lives, together.
The 1040 Initiative is a nonprofit that exists to provide life-changing essentials to impoverished communities in Côte d'Ivoire and Morocco.
Our work centers around education, health care, and safe drinking water to those who would otherwise go without.
Since 2010, 1040i supporters have impacted more than 36,000 lives in Africa.
WATER
Because water-born illness is the leading cause of death in Africa, we have given out hundreds of filters so that people can begin leading a healthy life.
HEALTH
Each year, we arrive in
Côte d'Ivoire to care for the communities where there is no health care. We hold a full-scale hospital complete with surgeries, clinics, a pharmacy, and post-op care.
EDUCATION
Our Tanda Bilingual Academy
was developed to ensure a comprehensive education to children who otherwise would not receive it. The K-12 campus in Tanda, Côte d' Ivoire is almost complete!
“The same blood that flows through their veins, flows through mine.
They are people that deserve dignity, and that deserve help.”
-Mike Cousineau
1040i's Founder & President
Mike has dedicated the last fifty years to empowering the people of Côte d'Ivoire! 1040i has hosted over twenty Impact trips since 2010, with twenty-five Ivorians serving as administrative and auxiliary staff in Côte d'Ivoire. We have ensured an ethical and self-sustaining entity so that one day the Ivorians can thrive without any assistance.
1040i is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Norman, Oklahoma.
