About the event
Our goal is to raise $750,000 which will be used to build the middle and high school for our Tanda Bilingual Academy in Côte d’Ivoire, Africa. To date, $140,000 of the $750,000 goal has been raised. The evening will consist of a catered dinner, a keynote address from Appolinaire Kambou, and both silent & live auctions. These auctions include vacation and ski packages, and professional photos of Côte d’Ivoire’s people, landscape & culture.
Appolinaire was raised by his grandmother after being abandoned by his parents. Growing up, his school was without electricity and his only source of light for studying was a kerosene lamp and then later one of the only street lights in his village. In spite of all the obstacles in his education, Appolinaire managed to work hard and was accepted to one of the most prestigious universities in Africa, comparable to Harvard and Yale. Because he excelled in his training, he landed one of the only positions working for the government as a Human Resources Manager at the Financial Affairs and Heritage Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. His story will be heartwarming as told by him in person at the event.
We know that we can count on your support of our mission to bring life and a future to the forgotten children and communities of Côte d’Ivoire. Together, we can show them that they are not forgotten. We truly hope to see you there!
